Women In comedy
Progams
Our paid programs help us continue our work to empower, connect, and advocate for women and girls in comedy while empowering our participants at the same time and propelling our mission statement forward. Apply now for our Writers Circles or our next WiCo Script to Screen Accelerator Program in Chicago.
Writers Circles
Apply now to connect with other funny women across the U.S. to share your comedy material weekly. Think of Writers Circle like a gym buddy - your fellow funny women help keep you motivated to write regularly, and give you a safe, virtual space to share your material. Our Writers Circle is a supportive and accountability group that allows you to connect with other funny women while sharing your material and giving/receiving feedback from a group of your peers. Make new comedy friends across the country, share material, and grow along the journey. If accepted, tuition is ($100) for the 4 month program of weekly meetings (that's only $6.25 per 2 hour virtual meeting).
WiCo Script Accelerator
This invite only program provides an opportunity to develop your comedic short alongside mentors, support, and a group of talented peers. If you have a comedic short script or pilot and need a supportive environment to develop it in alongside expert mentors and ambitious peers- WiCo is for you.
Our script accelerator program brings in expert mentors in all genres of comedy, business, and film producing to help you learn and grow in a supportive environment with the end goal of producing a finished product alongside peers. The final shorts are featured at our WiCo film screening in front of industry pros. Our last WiCo workshops and mentors included experts from The Second City, The Onion, Actors in featured comedy roles on Netflix, Script Supervisor from Game of Thrones, DP From Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, and more. The WiCo Script To Screen Accelerator Program motivates and catapults your script to screen development process in a safe, supportive environment of other women aiming to become indie film makers and produce their own comedic content.
This program is invite only and a small tuition fee is involved to help us cover the costs of the program.
